Ronaldo hamstring injury being evaluated day by day

Cristiano Ronaldo's condition will be evaluated on a daily basis after he suffered a hamstring injury during Al-Nassr's 3-1 win at Al-Fayha on Saturday.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus forward limped off with nine minutes remaining in that match, having failed to hit the target with any of his four shots.

Ronaldo's next appearance in the Saudi Pro League will be his 100th in the competition, and he is also chasing a century of goals after scoring 95 times in his first 99 league outings for Al-Nassr. 

The 41-year-old has netted 21 times in 22 Pro League games this season, from chances with an expected goals (xG) total of 20.9.

His shot conversion rate is up to 17.3% this term, having sat at 16.8% last season, while he has hit the target with 52.2% of his attempts.

Al-Nassr are battling Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal for the title, which has eluded Ronaldo since his move to Saudi Arabia, but he could now be set for a stint on the sidelines.  

"Cristiano Ronaldo has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury after the last game against Al-Fayha," Al-Nassr said in a statement on Tuesday.

"He started a rehabilitation program and will be under evaluation day by day."

Al-Nassr were due to face Al-Wasl in the AFC Champions League Two this week, only for that game to be postponed due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Their next scheduled Pro League game is against Neom on Saturday.
